Are you a monkey? Or are you made in the Image of God?

Here is where Darwin has led us.   Without a Creator, you are nothing but a cosmic accident.   You are an animal.  A monkey.   This video illustrates the hopelessness of a world without God.

A pretty depressing picture, huh?  No hope for redemption.

However, the Bible offers us a radically different perspective on the significance of human beings.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.   And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth” (Genesis 1:26-28).

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him (Col. 1:16).

You were created by God.   This gives you significance.

You were created for God.   This gives you purpose.

Without God, you are just a monkey.  With God, you are his image-bearer.  You were made to reflect your God.
