Christ as Prophet and Priest
I believe that Jesus Christ is our High Priest (Heb. 2:17; 3:1; 4:14-25; 5:6). In His death, He made atonement for our sins (Heb. 10:1-10). In His resurrection, He stands as our intercessor, our advocate, and our mediator before God (John 14:6; Rom. 8:34; 1 Tim. 2:5; 1 John 2:1-2).
According to Scripture, Jesus Christ came as a prophet from God (Matt. 13:57; Matt. 22:11; John 4:19). He called men to repentance and warned of God’s judgment (Matt. 4:17; 11:20-21; 23:13-29; ). Through Him, we can know God (John 1:18; 14:7-10; 17:3).

Great post.
Have you ever read “Lumen Gentium”? It’s the Dogmatic Constitution of the Catholic Church from Vatican II and it discusses in detail Christ’s role as Priest, Prophet, and King. Some of it you may not necessarily agree with but a lot of it is really very good and is easily shared belief between Catholic and Protestant.
Something that it touches on that is important is that we participate in Christ’s role as Priest, Prophet, and King. As He was the Priest who offered Himself up in sacrifice to exiate our sins, we participate in His priesthood by sacrificing ourselves to Him. As He is the Prophet who spread the Word of God from town to town, we are called by Him to evangelize the Good News to the end of the earth. And as He is King over His creation, we share in this kingship and must value God’s work—His creation.
