John 1:1-4 in Greek

The first assignment in my Greek class was to learn how to sound out all the letters and diphthongs.  Then we are to practice reading out land John 1:1-4.  I guess that it doesn’t matter that we can’t understand it all yet.  Here’s the passage.

εν αρχη ην ο λογος και ο λογος ην προς τον θεον και θεος ην ο λογος

ουτος ην εν αρχη προς τον θεον

παντα δι αυτου εγενετο και χωρις αυτου εγενετο ουδε εν ο γεγονεν

εν αυτω ζωη ην και η ζωη ην το φως των ανθρωπων
