So we’re studying Romans for our high school youth group. I’ve been thinking about the question that Paul asks in chapter 4. Normally Romans 4:1 is translated as follows:
“What then shall we say that Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh, has found?” (NASB).
Awhile back I reworked a Watts song that I found while working on a paper for Moody. I’m posting the lyrics so I can find it again if I need to.

I found this interesting summary of Wright’s commentary on Romans. This will be the next commentary on Romans that I buy on Romans when I have the money.
I find it deeply ironic when Calvinists use the language of permission to explain why sin exists. I understand how an Arminian can speak of God “allowing” sin or “permitting” evil.
